Adding satin ribbon to your invite to your special day adds your own personality to an already lovely invitation. This simply elegant invitation features a die-cut heart that is accented by your choice of satin ribbon. Ribbon can be used in many ways when designing your wedding invitations. Using a heart whole punch and cutting two slits on either side, this satin ribbon is very easily slipped through, wrapped around and tied in a knot, and trimming the ends at and angle. This would look great if the print was in burgundy to match the ribbon color.

How to Add Ribbon to a Cake
Step 1
Choose a double-sided satin ribbon that complements the colors of the wedding. Most floral shops should carry this, or you can check your local craft store. If you have chosen ribbon that is not double-sided, see the Tips section.
· Step 2
Iron the ribbon to make sure that it will lay flat on the cake. Make sure that the ribbon is completely free of wrinkles.
· Step 3
Wrap the base of the cake with the ribbon, with the backed side facing the cake. Do this a few inches at a time, smoothing it down as you go.
· Step 4
Use a small dab of butter cream icing at the seam as glue to hold the ribbon in place.
Things You’ll Need:
· Double-sided satin ribbon
· Wax paper
· Double-sided tape
· Iron
· Butter cream icing
Tips & Warnings
If you have chosen a ribbon that is not double-sided, first attach wax paper to the back of the ribbon by adhering double-sided tape to the ribbon. Trim the wax paper so that it doesn’t show from the front. This backing will keep the ribbon from looking greasy.
