Bulk Elastic Cord and Gift Wrapping

Bulk Elastic Cord has many great uses.  I have a variety of sizes of ribbon, cord, string in my collection of craft supplies.  You just never know what you will need.  This thin cording is wrapped several times around the gift and around this cute black bear Christmas ornament.  The “bow” or package topper is a gift in it self.  If a wider ribbon would have been used the bear accent would have been hidden.  Be creative as you warp all the Christmas gifts.

Star ornaments make a lovely gift topper when added to this great pleated blue thin ribbon.  Curling ribbon could also create this same great look.  Adding a red ribbon to this mix would give a patriotic feel to the presentation. Don’t forget the gift tag!  Maybe using a gold elastic cord or sliver metallic cord to attach a tag could be complimentary as well.

Elastic Cord and Gift Tags

This is the perfect tag for the perfect color paper.

Happen to have a bunch of paint swatches left over from your last redecorating project?  Maybe you splurged on a premium quality wrapping paper and can’t find the right tag to match.  Simple fix: Cut out round tags from those colorful paint chips.  If you need more than a few, ask the store for cards with discontinued color shades.  Punch a hole in the tag; tie on with elastic cord or embroidery floss, or thin ribbon that matches and BAM… perfect tag!

These are adorable individual table centerpieces for a baby shower.  They can coordinate with the much larger diaper cake on the gift table.  These can be large jar candles wrapped with a few individual diapers, and bound with a beautiful decorative ribbon, satin ribbon or sheer ribbon.  You can also use mini jars to use as vases for flowers too.  You can use elastic bands to hold the diapers in place as you prepare the ribbon to tie the perfect bow.

Wrapping Packages with Victorian Lace

Here is a unique way to wrap gifts for that special lady on any occasion.  This is so feminine and delicate and sure to please.  You can dress up any plain paper but wrapping it again with lace.  The paper color will show through.  Then add decorative ribbon to complete the wrapping.  Elastic cord can be used to attach gift tags. This would look beautiful for a bridal shower too.  Possibly even in the same style lace she may have selected for her dress.

Scrapbooks, Journals, and Gift Tags

What do these four have in common?  Ribbon! Ribbon, elastic cord, elastic bands, rubber stamps, and pre-tied elastic ribbon, cords and bands all can be used while making all these things.  Elastic cord and bands are great for keeping the journal closed, and as page markers.  The possibilities are endless. The tiny rubber stamps were used to decorate the edges of these journals and scrap books.  You can stamp a name, the initials, or just random abc’s but however you use them it personalizes it just for you.

Many of the items you may need to create your own version of this idea can be found on our website by clicking on the ribbon link in my post.  If you don’t see exactly what you are looking for, please call the phone number on that page.

bl12frb.This is a simple and quick way to decoratively package some homemade goodies. Start with A simple brown gift box with tissue paper inside to nestle your treats in. Measure enough colorful cardstock to wrap around the box meeting at the bottom slightly overlapping. Make sure you measure the colorful paper slightly narrower than the box. Secure with pret-tied elastic cord bows. The recipient will have easy access to the box and be able to wrap it back up after they sample the treat. Here is a recipe for the pastry in the picture.

Twist the strips and place on parchment lined baking sheet, spacing them 1 inch apart. Sprinkle with remaining ¼ cup of cheese and bake until golden crisp, 12-15 minutes.
