Do it yourself reception centerpieces can be very elegant and easy to make.  The flowers are already beautiful so you don’t need a lot of frill.  Many times less is more!

Once you have decided on your wedding colors, buy flowers and ribbon in exactly the same colors.  The only other thing you will need is clear cylinder vases in varying heights.  A tall narrow cylinder vase looks incredible and requires fewer flowers.  It gathers the long stems and allows the full blossoms to burst out the top.  Adding the wide satin or taffeta ribbon around the top the vase adds volume to the flowers.

If you want to accent another color of your flowers, use the other color flowers and add the accent color of ribbon around the middle of the vase.  The short stem roses stand alone in all their glory in a short fat cylinder vase.  Purposefully position the stems in a fanned out manner to add an artistic flair.  If you want to have very full bouquet centerpieces and are on a tight budget, you can add greenery like ferns and leaves to the vases and save money.
