Ribbons and bows have embellished clothing for hundreds of years. Louis XIV decorated his shoes with jeweled ribbons, and in the eighteenth century, French fashion plates festooned gowns with bows and tied ribbons around their necks.
Today’s bride needn’t go to such extremes. A ribbon headpiece, a bridesmaid’s sash, or bow-trimmed sandals are details that will make an enchanting statement. You can find wedding ribbon like the ribbon used in this head-piece on by clicking the link.

This designer has chosen a different style gown from the style of veil but by adding the same style ribbon to the veil and the hem of the gown, it’s a perfect match! The Hand-shaped double face satin ribbon on the veil and hem of this Amy Michelson silk organza gown conveys a modern sensibility.

This flower girl looks like a ballerina in a 1920s inspired, pearl-trimmed, lace, buttercup taffeta dress. Her headband is wrapped with a picot-edge velvet ribbon. Beautiful and versatile, satin ribbon bows can adorn a headpiece or a dress with equal finesse. The hem of the dress is also satin wedding ribbon.

At a recent wedding, I was thrilled to see a handsome little man riding in a beautifully decorated wagon. Why was there a wagon at a wedding? Well, how else was the ring bearer to get all the way down the isle to the front with his ring bearer pillow unless he was riding in a wagon? I am sure he could have gotten to the front, but there may have been a detour here or there. This was a creative idea and the florist who decorated this wagon did an awesome job. She utilizes lots of fluffy white tulle, satin and lace ribbon wrapping the rails of the wagon, Wide satin ribbon wraps all around and all the way up the long handle of the wagon finishing off with flowers, greenery and a large poofy bow, and of course huge satin ribbon bows abundantly placed all around the wagon. The flowers on the wagon matched the flowers in the brides’ bouquet, and the red color was carried onto the long satin streamers gently flowing from the back of the wagon as he was joyfully pulled up the isle. You can find a huge selection of decorative, double face, satin ribbon by clicking the link in this post and if you don’t see it on the site, call the number on the web site. They carry all the wedding ribbon you will ever need.

Holidays and weddings are such a fun time to wear special Hair Bows to go with the special occasion! Whether you are looking for a baby hair bow, toddler or girl hair bows for the occasion I think you will find that these suggestions and the ones in previous posts will fit your needs. Any of the Hair Bows and streamers can be attached to a baby elastic headband so babies can wear these adorable hair bows as well. Select the decorative ribbon, cut even lengths of the team colors, select a heavy coated rubber band, and tie a knot with the
ribbon around the rubber band. You can also pre-tie the bow and hot glue it to a hair barrette or clip. Another great way is to pre-tie the bow and hot glue or use thread wound around a head band so that it does not show. This way you won’t have to tie a bow, or individual ribbons around the hair each time. All you have to do is wrap the rubber band around the hair and adjust the streamers or bow. How ever you choose to create the hair fashion accessory, you will have a perfect hair ornament every time.
